Saint Matthias Church
Undoubtedly, it is the most beautiful and most famous Catholic Church of Budapest. Its present appearance is a consequence of the buildings made there in 1896, although it was built in the 13th and 15th centuries. The murals thereof were made by the Hungarian artists Károly Lotz, Mihály Zichy and Bertalan Székely. The temple shelters the tomb of the mythical king Bela III. Besides, three important Hungarian monarchs were crowned in Saint Matthias Church.
