Parish of San Nicolás el Real It was started in 1647 (17th Century). Declared monument in 1981, it was formerly a church of the
Jesuit school of the Trinity, founded by the Lasarte family in 1619. With a baroque style, its
stony façade with a statue of the Faith stands out. Inside, where the Jesuit model is repeated, the
Parish of San Nicolás keeps two pieces of art which value is special: the high altar and the lying
statue of the knight commander Rodrigo de Campuzano, on the right from the entrance. This statue
was transferred here in the 19th Century from the original San Nicolás church that used to be
located where the Banco de España (Bank of Spain) is situated at present. It was carved in
Guadalajara in the late 15th Century and due to its perfection it has been compared with the statue
of El Doncel (The Young Nobleman) of the cathedral of Sigüenza.
