Museumsquartier (museum quarter) Bordering the historical heart of Vienna, this district is one of the nine biggest museum districts
in the world. The buildings are typically Baroque, and were designed by famous architects such as
Lauridis, Ortner and Wehdorn.
In reality, however, these buildings make up a real cultural region that offers far more than
exhibitions. In this area you can find, among others, the Leopold Museum (with more than 5000
pieces of art), the Ludwig Wien modern art museum (with pieces from Pop-Art to Cubism,
Expressionism and Austrian avant-garde), the Architecture Center of Vienna and the Zoom Children's
Museum.
