The Gateway to the Mexican Caribbean

Portray of the Destination
Although the Mayan civilization already recognized and enjoyed this beautiful area, the current Cancun’s tourism boom has begun just three decades ago.

This city was developed by the sea, next to inner lagoons (the most important one is Nichupte), surrounded by a tongue of land, where many hotels are erected nowadays. Further, this geographical layout enables to enjoy the sea as well as lagoons. Besides, there is a significant infrastructure regarding hotels (over 100 of them) and shops.

The nearby ruins confirm the presence of the ancient Mayan past and add another attraction, complemented by the forest and several protected areas that you can enjoy thoroughly. It should be highlighted the fact that, in addition to the above mentioned hotel area, there is another zone known as Center Cancun, which might be more representative of the typical Mexican culture.
